Required Experience (Only candidates meeting all requirements will be considered)

Job Duties

Hands-On Yard & Warehouse Responsibilities

This is a working manager position. While you will provide leadership and oversight, you will also be actively completing yard tasks yourself.

• Lead by example while performing day-to-day yard duties including receiving, organizing product, yard setup, customer service and forklift operation.
• Work closely with your team in all weather conditions to ensure smooth yard operations.
• Maintain strong housekeeping standards to protect products, support health & safety, and ensure a clean, customer-ready yard.
• Operate forklifts and other equipment safely and efficiently.
• Support inventory control processes and ensure accurate product handling.

Team Leadership & Staff Management

• Assign daily tasks and work alongside yard employees to keep operations running smoothly.
• Train and mentor staff, ensuring all team members follow safe work practices and represent the company professionally.
• Coordinate with the Central Dispatcher to organize and prioritize load building and delivery schedules.
• Ensure all employees maintain valid certifications and follow all safety procedures and company policies.

Administration

• Collaborate with the Branch Manager on staffing, budgeting, and scheduling.
• Handle employee relations including coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
• Coordinate equipment maintenance and ensure safe operation.
• Promote and enforce Health & Safety compliance at all times.

Job Requirements

• Comfortable performing physical yard work and heavy lifting on a daily basis.
• Willing and able to work outdoors in all climates.
• Forklift experience required.
• Strong organizational, time management, and prioritizing skills.
• Customer-focused with a professional, positive attitude.
